Write Something

Content Writers Are Everywhere – Right?

Do you want your company to produce custom and unique content each month to increase your brand value? Yes? Well, start!

I was intimidated to start writing or producing unique content; however, when I would come across an idea or a tip – I would sit down and start writing, even if it was just an outline. Through my over 20+ years of experience in marketing, as soon as you say – “write something”, people run, when the very best writers for a company or brand are the ones that are in it.

Steps to get started:

  1. Sit down and think of 4 to 5 topics you want your brand or company to be known for – try to focus on how you solve your customers’ obstacles or what they are dealing with in their day to day versus what you offer.
  2. Ask your employees or strategic partners if they have an opinion on it and would they like to write something on it. I think you will find that the leaders in your own company will step up and take ownership. They want to help make the brand and company better.
  3. Get an editor to review the blogs to start and then have your marketing team take pieces of value from the blogs each month to develop your social content. (The content is already there – they need to turn it into a post.)

The cool thing about utilizing unique content is that it is different from everyone else – it helps you establish and elevate your company in the market. Perhaps the thoughts or ideas are the same, but the culture of your great company will shine through because the people in the company write it.

So don’t wait – schedule a 30-minute meeting with your key leaders to make a list of thought leadership ideas and have them volunteer to get started writing for the company.

Just starting and don’t have any employees yet – chat with your friends; they can help you develop some ideas on what to write for your thought leadership campaigns! Or perhaps this is one of the first services you should hire out, my company can help, but so can many other marketing agencies.
